WOOD STOVE style and function in one, like no other!!
How to start a fire
First phase
Open
the door,
Then
put a few fire lighters in bottom of fire box.
Place
small, pieces of wood over “fire lights”. (no need for kindling)(The key
is to have lots of edges for the flame to catch on.)
Above
this place a few big pieces.
Light
the “fire lighters” with a long reach fire lighter or long matches.
Close
the door and latch, lift latch up to 45 degrees to the floor. (You can
feel the latch handle come to a stop, at this point.)
Open
the air supply, or thermostat to fully open.
Second phase
After
20 minutes this wood should have burnt down sufficiently for you to have
an ash bead the will now sustain a down draft burn.
You can
now push the lever all the way up
Set the
thermostat to the temperature setting you require.
Or
You can
now open the door refill with wood right to the top
Close
the door latch, and then push the lever all the way up.
Set the
thermostat to the temperature setting you require.
How to run the fire.
Once the latch is lifted to its fully upright position, this
will engage the circulation pump in a Hydronic system (wet or back boiler.) automatically.
It will at the same time override any other heating systems
that might be connected to the same system.
From this point the thermostat will control the water temperature
in the radiators.
Room temperature can be adjusted on the radiator TRV’s
After some time (depending how cold the house is or how many
rooms need to be heated) the fire will need to be refilled. This will vary from
one hour to several.
Open
the door
Refill
with logs
Latch
door and push lever all the way up. (This will bring in the down burn
again.)
How to clean out ash.
This unit should be able to burn
for a few days before needing
to be “ashed out”
So it is ideal to “ash out” when
cold.
Using
the small brush provided sweep the ash from the fire box in to the flame box
though the burn hole, caching the ash as it falls though on the spade to
prevent to much dust.
Sweep
the ash in the flame box on to the spade and dispose of.
Very quick and
hassle free.
NOTE:
Lastly the messy job of cleaning is now only
done once a week not every morning, like a normal wood stove. (I have been burning pallets, and have
to get all the nails out, more so than any ash! if I was burning logs it would only be probably once ever
two weeks? this is using the stove every day for 7 to 8 hours to heat the entire house.)
